What changes, if any, should be made to Ohio's election laws?
My top concern is ensuring fair, transparent and accountable elections at all levels of government in Ohio. We need to provide county officials the financial resources they need to ensure all votes are counted accurately and in a timely manner that the voters can transparently observe, In order to maintain fair elections, the General Assembly needs to help make certain an accurate census is conducted in Ohio in 2020 and that we are prepared to implement our new system of determining Congressional districts and state legislative districts in 2021.

Explain your position on reproductive health care choices for women.
I believe every woman deserves bodily autonomy and the right to make her own healthcare decisions. I will continue to oppose legislation that turns back the clock on reproductive healthcare.

Sticking with the subject of health care, do you think government should help people who can't afford decent health insurance coverage? Whatever your answer to that question, do you favor a specific proposal to reduce the number of uninsured Ohioans?
I supported Medicaid expansion and will continue to fight to keep it in Ohio without work requirements or any other measures meant to make it harder for low-income Ohioans to have healthcare. We must take more aggressive efforts through legislation as well as Executive action via the Ohio Department of Insurance to limit insurance premium costs, increase access and ensure all Ohioans have available to them quality, comprehensive, affordable health care. The current Governor's administration failed to take permissible steps to implement an Ohio health exchange that would have lowered premiums for consumers and decreased the number of uninsured.

Explain your position on gun safety, sales, and ownership.
Law-abiding citizens who own guns or want to own guns are within their rights to do so and I will continue to support them. We do need to have universal background checks to prevent criminals and violent people from owning guns. We should enact red flag legislation so that family members can have guns removed from those relatives who are a danger to themselves or others. I also favor an age restriction, to stop our young people from easily buying a firearm.

Should Ohio be working to ensure that the state is at the forefront of the clean energy industry? Why or why not?
Absolutely. Clean energy provides a sustainable energy source as well as jobs for the 21st century. I support the current energy efficiency and renewable energy standards as they exist in Ohio law. I am opposed to any effort to to reduce or eliminate the standards as the currently exist. Energy companies need to maintain and invest in broad energy generation portfolios that maintain and create good-paying, high-skilled jobs.

What are your legislative priorities for the environment? Please discuss renewable energy, water resources, clean air, and climate change.
I support efforts to ensure all our communities have clean drinking water and clean air. We must take action now to limit climate change. These issues are important and impact public health as well as environmental quality. Addressing these issues by making the right investments will not only improve and protect our environment but will positively impact our economy and will create quality jobs. I cosponsored SJR 4 by Sen Schiavoni, which is cosponsored by all Senate Democrats and Republican Senator John Eklund, which permits the issuance of general obligation bonds to fund sewer and water capital improvements. It allows up to $100 million per year for ten years capped at $1 billion in order to pay for financing of sewer and water capital improvement projects of municipal corporations, counties, townships, or other governmental entities designated by law.

Explain your position on reproductive health care choices for women.
The health and well-being of all must be taken into account.

Define and fill identified gaps to assist those who are not financially able to pay for basic or costly services.

Explain your position on gun safety, sales, and ownership.
I am a strong proponent of the Second Amendment, which states "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." We need to be wise when enacting laws to guarantee the rights of the second amendment while protecting the populace. Any laws related to this issue must be well thought out with a clear mind focused on the intentions of our Founding Fathers.

Should Ohio be working to ensure that the state is at the forefront of the clean energy industry? Why or why not?
A Cost Benefit Analysis needs to be performed on the Clean Energy industry.

What are your legislative priorities for the environment? Please discuss renewable energy, water resources, clean air, and climate change.
I am a proponent of renewable energy, so that we are able to lower our dependency on non-renewable, finite energy sources. We need to focus on keeping our water resources clean and accessible to all; especially, Lake Erie.
